Academics & Activities
As part of our enduring commitment to creating opportunities for our students, we offer a college prep curriculum and a clear path to college through our network of schools. We also prioritize a holistic approach to learning by purposefully integrating character development and cultivating a scholars sense of self. Each aspect is critical to developing happy, stable and successful human beings.
At MacDowell, scholars receive rigorous academic content and opportunities to cultivate their unique passions. During the school day, we offer PE, Art, and Dance classes as part of our core curriculum. MacDowell also offers chess, tutoring, and scholar mentorship as extracurricular enrichment.

School Safety Culture
A core part of our vision is that all of our scholars will maximize their potential and achieve success in every area of their lives. One pivotal way that we support our scholars to achieve this vision is through the development of self-regulation.
We also strongly believe that in order to foster the appropriate decision making abilities in our scholars, there needs to be an environment where learning and correction can take place. We look to Restorative Practices in order to build the type of community where we not only celebrate success, but we also redirect when poor choices are made.
