Mrs. Shena Hill-Scott is currently serving in the capacity of School Director of University Prep Science and Math Elementary School. Prior to taking on the role of School Director, Mrs. Hill-Scott serviced our school as Dean of Culture for four years. Before joining the elementary school, she served as the Assistant Principal of University Prep High School for one year.
Prior to signing on with the UPREP family, Mrs. Hill-Scott was with National Heritage Academies and assigned to Detroit Premier Academy (DPA), where she served as the Assistant Principal for ten years. With the strategic development of a strong administrative and leveled leadership teams, DPA was recognized as a Grand Valley State University School of Excellence, a Michigan Department of Education Reward School for “Beating the Odds” for two consecutive years, they received an Aspiring School Recognition Award from the Skillman Foundation and a National Heritage Academies Eagle Award for three consecutive years, being recognized as having a “Strong Instructional Team”.
Mrs. Hill-Scott is also the co-founder of Innovative Teaching Solutions and Old Redford Academy, a K-12 Charter School and management company. She has over 20 years of charter school administrative experience, earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master of Arts in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University and a Michigan School Administration Certification from Grand Valley State University.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, interior decorating, and gardening.
