Points of pride
Growing up in the Metro Detroit area, I have experienced the academic and social challenges, which hinder many of our youth from achieving their goals and aspirations. Understanding the challenges and struggle, my passion is to help our youth create and focus on attaining their academic and career goals. My collegiate studies were at Eastern Michigan University and The University of Phoenix.

Academics & Activities
At WAY, our students engage in project-based courses that are aligned to national and state standards. The WAY curriculum includes core and elective courses in math, science, english language arts, social studies, and other subjects. Each WAY school sets their graduation requirements and available courses.
Our curriculum is designed on an online platform, HERO, which delivers the curriculum, grading, and collaboration space.
Projects are designed by certified teachers, using a project-based learning approach. Teachers, students, and community members work together on the project to include real-world audiences, 21st century skills, collaboration, and other key skills.

School Safety Culture
WAY Academy is a P.B.I.S. (Positive Behaviors and Intervention) school. We practice a D.R.E.A.M environment: Dedication, Responsibility, Etiquette, Attitude, and Motivation are taught and encouraged daily. We work hard to make sure we have a bully-free school.
